In the final match, Ornnicha Jongsathapornpan and Jhenicha Sudjaipraparat, Thailand’s doubles team, played an intense match against a tough Indonesian pair. Why This Win Was So Special

This victory was extra special because Thailand’s women’s team had won gold for seven consecutive SEA Games, but this was their first time winning on home soil. Team unity was key to their success. Even when a player lost, the other members of the team stepped up and supported each other, showing how strong their collective spirit was.

Ratchanok Intanon’s Leadership

Ratchanok Intanon has been a pivotal part of Thailand’s badminton success. She now has four SEA Games gold medals and has represented Thailand at four Olympic Games. After her performance in the team event, Ratchanok said:
_"It’s not just about winning. It’s about how we worked as a team. We all supported each other, and we’re all winners."_
Her leadership and poise under pressure played a huge role in bringing Thailand to victory.

What’s Next for Thailand?

Following this team gold, Ratchanok Intanon will now focus on the singles competition at the SEA Games, where she'll compete for more medals. After the SEA Games, she’s off to Hangzhou, China for the BWF World Tour Finals, a major international badminton tournament.

Indonesia's Victory in the Men’s Event

While Thailand dominated the women’s event, Indonesia clinched the gold in the men’s badminton team event. Indonesia defeated Malaysia 3-0 in a dominant performance, with Moh. Zaki Ubaidillah, an 18-year-old player, playing a key role in their victory. Zaki’s performance made headlines, adding the SEA gold to his earlier Asian Junior Championship win.
